Good Things About Survivor Gabon
1.
I'm thinking, I'm thinking .................
....... okay, the setting itself was great. Beautiful savannas. Great wildlife interaction with the players.
And that's it.
Bad Things About Survivor Gabon
1. The story editors SUCKED !!!!! We had a close final vote of 4-3. And what did the story
editors give us ? Susie got three votes and almost won the game, yet she was IGNORED the whole season. Bob won the game and was IGNORED most of the season.
Sugar got ZERO votes and was HATED by pretty much the entire jury and what did we get from the editors ? A misleading manufactured "sweetheart" edit.
Pretty much the entire jury agreed (in their post-boot interviews) that Sugar's edit was WAY OFF from what they experienced with her in Gabon. Why did the
editors give Sugar this edit ? I'll give that answer under it's own number later.
2. The Final Three SUCKED !!!!! The absolute worse F3 jury performances EVER !! Bob did SO
BADLY that he turned a guaranteed 7-0-0 win into a 4-3-0 nailbiter. Bob did not own up to ANYTHING. Bob declared that he was carried along to the end. Bob took
no credit for any decisions made. And after all of this, Bob decides to be flippant (and stupid) to the last questioner, Matty. "These girls do not
deserve to win over me". Wait Bob, didn't you just say that you made no decisions and was just carried to the end ? Really Bob ? THE WORST JURY
performance EVER by a winner. And that includes Heidik, who at least had the good sense to apologize to Helen for her vote.
What did we get from Susie ? "I tried hard. For my son. For my family." Repeat, ad nauseum. And she still got three votes ! Anti-Bob votes,
all of 'em. And Sugar got ZERO anti-Bob votes. That's how much Sugar was HATED. All of the anti-Bob votes went to Susie ! How horrendous was
Sugar's jury performance ? Well, she told Charlie he need not worry about voting for her. She continued to insult Randy. She told her "brother"
Matty, whom she betrayed at the end, that she really felt bad about betraying .......... Kenny !
3. Probst SUCKED !!!!! Probst has been getting worse each season. It seemed to start around
ASS. This year he made no bones about who he liked and who he didn't like. During challenge commentary, poor Kelly was trashed constantly, even though her
challenge performances were not that bad, at least compared to the rest of these idiots. And Probst also was pretty bad at TCs. At GC's last TC, Probst
basically informed Sugar that the others had searched her bag and had found her HII and that she better play it to save herself. Yet Sugar was so sure that she
wasn't gonna be blindsided that night that she refused to play it. And survived. Which leads us to the next point.
4. Player strategy SUCKED !!!!! Sugar got the HII in Ep3. The Fangs realized she had the HII by
Ep5. And still Sugar was allowed to float to the end without ever using it. Meanwhile Kenny and Crystal were booting alllies left and right. Bye bye GC. So
long Kelly. And the one time a tribe votes in a manner to eliminate a target AND protect themselves from the HII at the same time, they get screwed by a twist.
The second tribe switch. More on that later. What about the Kotas ? Why didn't they throw some ICs and shed themselves some ex-Fangs and maybe save some
ex-Kotas on the other side ? I don't know why they didn't, but I'm glad they didn't. Burnett is thisclose to turning the post-switch ICs into a
battle of "throws". I can see it now - Probst will say "On your mark, set, GO" and no one will move along the challenge course.
How about strategy post-merge ? It sucked as well. Sugar needlessly turned on pretty much every ally she had. And was losing jury votes faster than ever. Bob
played around with fake idols. He betrayed Randy and Corinne. Apparently he was trying to lose jury votes as well, and it almost cost him the game. Crystal and
Kenny got cocky and blew their games out of the water.
5. The Twists SUCKED !!!!! Remember when being exiled used to be a bad thing ? Me neither.
Clue versus comfort in Exile. How did that go ? Well, Sugar and her stomach certainly appreciated it. Again and again and again and again. How about that bonus
II at the feast ? The one that, unsurprisingly, no one wanted to take in front of EVERYONE. The one that was thrown into the water about an hour after it was
found. Jeez.
But the absolute worst twist was the second switch. You know, the one that was inserted at the last minute to prevent the dominant Kotas from pagonging the
useless Fangs. How did that work out for Burnett ? Instead of the Kotas pagonging the Fangs, we got the Fangs pagonging the Kotas. Yay !! So instead of the
fireworks and treachery of Randy and Corinne betraying Charlie and Marcus in the end, we got the worst F6 EVER. Yay again !!
The second switch also had the ridiculousness of turning a hard-fought 6-4 tribe advantage into a mish-mash of mixed 5-5 tribes. But Kota had a 3-2 advantage
in each tribe ! Yeah, tell that to Marcus. I'm sure he would prefer the 6-4 advantage that his tribe, you know, actually earned. Heck, even Randy and
Charlie and Corinne knew that Marcus was in danger and wanted to throw the challenge. So what happened ? Matty won an IC that was obviously set up to be an
individual challenge. That is, until the last-minute shenanigans by Probst and the producers caused it to become a tribe challenge.
Survivor needs to go back to the basics, like Big Brother did. GET RID OF THE FUCKIN' TWISTS ! And hopefully they can get the same results as BB did this
past season.
6. Sugar SUCKED !!!!! And was rather good at it, so she got onto the show. Just kidding ! A
little. Sugar got this season's "sweetheart" edit. Like Colleen and Lis and KimP and Gina. Except that Colleen and Lis and KimP and Gina
were, you know, SWEET. Sugar was NOT sweet. Sugar was a fake. A charlatan. A mactress. Post-finale interviews reveal that CBS/SEG "hired" Sugar to
bring "drama" and "entertainment" to this season's edition of Survivor. She promised backstabs and blindsides and tears and
"moments" and hilarity and funny faces and smirks. Sugar was not there to win, she was there for the "exposure". And probably to help the
good guys win. And she delivered. ( I also hear that she was angling for the extra $100,000 for Fave Player, but Probst screwed her by giving it to Bob even
though he was the winner
).
In return, CBS/SEG promised a really good edit to help her in her post-Survivor career, which apparently included a rumoured "side deal" with CBS. I
anticipate Sugar appearing as Bimbo #3 on Two and a Half Men, and as corpse #1 in any or all of the CSIs. Yay for Sugar !!
